The state has allowed us to alter our 2023-24 calendar due to no longer being able to utilize AMI days during inclement weather. We have changed from a Traditional calendar (178 days) to an Alternate calendar (1,068 hours). Using this calendar, we were able to bank 8 instructional days. We have used 5 of those days so far, which puts our new last day of school on May 21st. Any additional days missed will be added to the end of this new calendar.
Due to some information being shared with school districts, it is possible we will not be in session on April 8th for the solar eclipse. We will make a decision about that as soon as we can and as more information becomes available.
The FBLA Calendar is quickly filling up, but there's still a few dates available if you/your business would like to donate!

There will be a Spring Fling Dance for students in 6th-8th grades on Friday, March 15th! This will be held in the Cafeteria from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission will be $3.00 per student. Snacks will be available for purchase.

Hunter Ricketts shot a 292 and finished 1st place in the High School Boys Division at the State Archery Tournament in Hot Springs!! He will qualify to compete in the National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky!

One Fish, Two Fish 🐟 Elementary students kicked off Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Week by wearing red & blue yesterday.
Mrs. Grinder's class read "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and graphed their colored goldfish!
Lead Hill FFA will be open again on Saturday, March 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Then they will be closed until the Annual Spring Sale beginning on Monday, April 1st. Thank you for supporting Lead Hill FFA!
Mrs. Grinder's 1st graders are having fun learning about the Human Body! Yesterday, they focused on learning about the stomach. They also borrowed “Fred the Skeleton" from Ms. Curtis.
Attention Seniors: Jostens will be here on Friday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the Beastro to pass out graduation items (caps & gowns, announcements, etc). If you are unable to attend to pick up your items, they will leave them in Mrs. Miles's office in Building B for you to pick up at your convenience.

Lead Hill ABC Preschool Registration will be on Friday, April 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your child must turn 3 years old before August 1, 2024. Parents can stop by during these hours to complete the enrollment paperwork and see the new preschool building (Building J, across from the bus garage). Senior Pages are now on sale! A Senior Page is the opportunity to share memories from all stages of life of your Senior in their Senior Yearbook! It is also a place for family to offer well wishes and words of encouragement.

There should be no more than 10 photos per page and the notes should be kept to a minimal length (4-5 sentences) and can be handwritten or typed (emailed to crushing@leadhillschools.net). Photos can be hard copies or preferably digital by email. Deadline to have form, payment, notes and photos turned in is March 28th. Attention parents/guardians of students in 3rd-10th grades: We will be doing the ATLAS Summative Writing test on Tuesday, March 5th. Testing will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. Please see the attached flyer with more information about the purpose of this testing and how you can help your child prepare for this assessment.
Kindergarten Registration will be on Friday, April 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call the K-12 Office at 870-436-5677 to schedule an appointment to register your child. Your child must turn 5 years old before August 1, 2024 to enroll.
