Attention K-2 Parents & Guardians,
Your child will be taking the STAR state assessment test on tomorrow, April 18 & Wednesday, April 19. Testing will begin at 8:30 A.M.
These tests will give us a baseline of individual reading and mathematical abilities. The data from these tests will help us fine-tune your child’s educational needs. We perform these tests each year in September, January, and April or May. This way, we can monitor growth or areas in which your child is struggling.
By working together, we can make your child’s test experience positive and successful. Here are some suggestions that you can do to help your child succeed:
•Make sure your child gets a good night’s rest.
•Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or in the cafeteria at school.
•Make sure your child arrives at school ON TIME.
•Gently encourage your child to do their best!
As parents, you have been a very important and very powerful influence on how your child has progressed. For this reason I am asking that you please help us make certain your child is fully prepared for testing.
Sincerely,
Ms. Amy Curtis
District Testing Coordinator
